took me awhile

I was attracted to this product first and foremost due to the name. With eczema and constant allergies, I am always on the lookout for cooling itch-relief. Unlike other reviewers, I do not have a problem with the consistency. I do share the gripe about the packaging, though. It's not very hygienic. That being said, it took me awhile to find a way to make the product work for me. Because the amount of product you get is devastatingly little, I applied only a thin layer on affected areas. My skin drank it up immediately (perhaps because it was parched) and the itch relief lasted for all of 2 seconds. What you have to do instead is apply a liberal amount so that it takes awhile for the product to be absorbed. This makes the cooling sensation stronger, and the itch relief usually lasts long enough that I don't have to do a second round.

hydrates and soothes.

i got this "balm" for my eczema on my arm but i went to the brand website it says for acne prone skin so i put it on my face instead. its really soothing and hydrating and the scent is lovely. its great as a sleeping mask and helps with the eczema too. only con about this is that its runny - think melted ice cream so its a bit hard to scoop out.

I got something liquidy, not a balm

I have bouts of eczema and other types of dermatitis and am constantly on the look out for products that offer skin relief. Prescription ointments and creams are well and good but a lot of them contain steroids that are harmful in the long run. From the description I was expecting a gel like balm but got a runny liquid instead. I refrigerated it to see if it will solidify and only liquefied during transit. It congealed only slightly and remained liquefied. On application it did relieve the itchiness but the effects are very transient and you need to reapply it to affected areas constantly. Since it is in liquid form, you get through the jar rapidly. Overall an expensive mess and not a good intro to the Edible Beauty brand for me. Good thing I bought this on sale.
